Do People Know You're a Christian? | Matthew 5:13-16

This is gonna get personal

My greatest struggle: being fearless for Christ.

Sure, I can write daily devotionals, blog posts, etc. But can I be bold about my faith so that everyone around me knows without a doubt that I believe in Christ?

My past would probably indicate “no” so far.

13  “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.

14  “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15  Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16  In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that[b] they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:13-16

Salt, in ancient times, was a valuable commodity used for preserving, flavoring, and purifying.

As followers of Christ, we are called to preserve moral goodness, bring flavor to life, and act as purifiers in a world tainted by sin.

Light dispels darkness, brings clarity, and guides the way. As believers, we are called to shine the light of Christ in a world filled with moral and spiritual darkness.

Our good deeds, acts of love, and the reflection of Christ's character in our lives should be visible to others, drawing them to glorify God.

Can we be so bold in our love for the world that our lives point to Jesus?

Perhaps that will be an addition to my 2024 goals.

Just like how this daily devo gets easier as I continue to do it, the start will be difficult, but momentum will build.

I hope you join me. Let’s be bold together to show the world the light of Christ.

Have a blessed Saturday, my friends.

Love y’all.
