God Wants YOU | Matthew 9:35-38

Even one as undeserving as me

It’s ironic that Christians are perceived as being unwelcoming or judgemental.

When you read what Christ was like, it’s impossible to truly follow Him and not be compassionate and kind.

That’s not to say that it will come easy, but it should be what we strive for.

35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Matthew 9:35-38

Jesus goes everywhere. To the rich cities and the poor. And everywhere he goes, he does 2 things: preaches the good news of Heaven and heals people.

He heals not only their temporary afflictions but also their eternal afflictions. And we never see Him turn anyone away.

We see the opposite.

He sees the crowds of people and feels compassion.

It’s something quite obvious, but something that hit me recently.

Jesus wants everyone to be saved. Because He loves His creation. He loves us and doesn’t want us to suffer eternity apart from Him.

And He loves us so much that if we choose that option, He will allow us to go our way.

Thus He tells His disciples to “pray earnestly” for more people to go out and tell people about the good news. Because He has compassion on every soul.

So in case you haven’t heard it recently, Jesus loves you. He wants you to be with Him for eternity.

The God of the Universe wants to spend eternity with you.

What an incredible thought.

Have a blessed Monday, friends.
