Free Will or Controlled Robots? | Matthew 11:20-24

God doesn't need robots. He wants you.

It’s ok to doubt. It’s ok to question.

But to refuse repentance?

That’s where Jesus draws the line.

20 Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.”

Matthew 11:20-24

But even though He knows what’s to come, Jesus doesn’t force anyone to repent.

He gives warning after warning, but He never changes the fabric of reality so that you don’t have a choice. He could have. But He didn’t.

Why?

Because God doesn’t need robots. He wants His people to choose to repent and love Him.

He gave Adam the choice in the Garden of Eden not because God wanted to test Adam and somehow make him fail to punish him, but because God wanted Adam to choose Him.

And He gives that same choice to us.

We make choices every day.

Some small, some big.

But this one affects not only eternity but also your life here on earth.

I hope you choose Him today.

Have a blessed Thursday, friends.
